STUDIO PORTRAITS, HEADSHOTS, CASUAL SHOTS, OR AS YOU WISH

Fee:  $175

You choose one image from no less than 30 shots taken in the studio.

You immediately see the shots on a computer, and if you wish, we shoot again.

Once chosen, the image is retouched to your satisfaction and given to you as two files:  a color JPEG and a B&W JPEG.
Each file is approximately 6x7 @ 300 ppi.

Although your files will allow you to order prints anywhere, you
can also order prints from me.

ADDITIONAL SHOTS

Fee:  $75 each for the next four shots
         $60 each thereafter

Retouching services are included at no additonal fee for your first three images.

The shoot is a dynamic, collaborative creation.  After discussing
the type of look you want, we shoot & look at the results, and shoot &
look at the results, until we've got it.

I'm more interested in the result than the clock, unless you're on a tight
schedule, in which case we'll shoot to meet your time requirements.

My studio is located in the historic Rockland Gristmill, which also
offers unique outdoor settings for casual shots  if desired.

FULL COURSE OFFERINGS

YOU, YOUR CAMERA & THE ARTIST WITHIN

This basic beginner's course teaches both the craft and art of digital photography.  By it's conclusion, you'll be able to pre-visualize the image you wish to take -- and capture it precisely.  In this class you'll learn everything you've always wanted to know -- (and a few things you didn't) -- about file formats, archiving your images, metering, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, resolution, depth of field, composition and the like.  Along the way, we'll explore (and debate) the Master Works of artists such as Cartier-Bresson, Eisenstadt, Avedon, Arbus, McCurry, Adams, Capa, Leibowitz, Friedlander, Marshall, and Erwitt -- all to one end:  to learn to make (not take) a fine art image.  While we won't learn Photoshop in this class, we'll see enough of it to entice you to take my other class.

HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH PHOTOSHOP -- A BEGINNER'S COURSE

Photoshop can actually be fun, particularly when it does as you ask.  In this beginner's course, we learn to work with RAW, JPG and TIF formats to get the most out of your images -- all without falling asleep.  By the end of the course, you'll know how to maximize the dynamic range of your image to obtain greater detail and drama; how to turn flat images into photographs that "pop"; how to master color; how to create a fine art B&W and sepia image; how to enlarge, crop and better resolve your image; how to move, remove & add objects to an image; how to minimize noise and posteurization; how to achieve just the right amount of sharpening; how to retouch faces and bodies; and a heck of a lot more.  The emphasis is on basic mastery:  we learn to seamlessly enhance an image, not drastically change it.
